TAKING CHARGE: The newly-elected members of the students' council of Auden Public School.
BANGALORE: It is the time of the year when the newly-elected members of the student council in schools are handed over their responsibilities. The student union of Auden Public School was inaugurated recently. Badges were presented to the elected students members who took their oath of leadership and promised to maintain discipline in the school.
Science club inaugurated
All for the sake of the scientific temper. Vagdevi Vilas School recently inaugurated its science club called "Wings of Fire." M. Krishnaswami, Project Director, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), inaugurated the club. The students made interesting models and charts on the occasion connected to every day science. The students also had an interactive session with Dr. Krishnaswami on modern satellite system and their role in daily life.
Investiture ceremony
Students dressed in crisp white uniforms from the primary, secondary and senior secondary sections of the Kendriya Vidyalaya, MEG and Centre marched in discipline to the dais on the occasion of the school's investiture ceremony. They were all adorned with Badges of Honour and they pledged their commitment to render their duties and responsibilities. Bhavyashree was elected Captain of the student council while Nabanshu Das was chosen Vice-Captain.
World Music Day
It was a day of musical renderings at the National Public School, Koramangala, recently. The school celebrated World Music Day on June 21. This international event was first initiated in France in 1982 to dedicate a day to musical practice and live music in general. The school celebrated the day by conducting a special assembly session based on music. The students of Grade nine made presentations on music in general and World Music Day in particular.
Students take oath
St. Martin's High School, Magadi Road, organised its investiture ceremony on its premises recently. Students council members, looking bright and colourful in their uniforms, were handed over bouquets and badges by the Headmistress, Annapoorna Tiwari. The headmistsress also administered the oath to the students.
Principal for world meet
Hemaa Narayan, Principal of Sudarshan Vidya Mandir Group, will represent India in swimming at the World Masters 2005 Sports Meet in Edmonton, Canada, to be held from July 22 to 31. Ms. Narayan has become eligible to participate in the international event on the basis of having participated and won medals at severa l State-level and National-level swimming championships.
