BANGALORE:
The Embassy Group, which is developing a housing project near Mount Carmel College, said on Monday that an agreement has been reached with the college authorities to reduce the noise and dust levels.
No noisy construction activity will be carried out between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and barricades are to come up on the college side within four days. "We have been using a system of drilling instead of blasting to clear the rocks on the property, and this has delayed the project by nearly nine months,'' a spokesperson said.
With regard to the traffic to and from the construction site, he said a proposal was made to the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike for constructing an underpass from Palace Road directly to the site. Approval was awaited.
The city police have welcomed this suggestion and recommended it to the Bngalore Mahanagara Palike. The spokesperson said no building bylaws have been violated. All sanctions and approvals have been obtained.
"On the basis of clearances, leading housing finance companies have approved the project,'' the spokesperson added.
