Solvent for petrol: one more held

HUBLI: Continuing the raids on shops selling adulterated petrol, the Hubli Police have arrested one more person on the charge of selling solvent for adulterating petrol.

They have seized solvent worth Rs. 1.4 lakhs.

The name of the arrested was given as Syed Ahmed Syed Hassan Peerjade.

The police arrested three persons on Saturday in connection for allegedly storing solvent used for adulterating petrol and seized solvent worth Rs. 5,62,840.

Tip-off

The latest arrest follows a tip-off and a raid on a marketing firm on Pattarphod Galli in Hubli on Monday.

On inspection it was found that Syed Ahmed had violated the license regulations by selling solvent for adulterating petrol and also had not maintained stock register, the police said in a release.

A case has been registered in the Hubli Town Police Station. Investigation is on

Body found

The body of a person was found on the platform of the New Bus Stand in Hubli on Monday.

The Gokul Police have registered a case.
