CPI plans 36-hour fast

ERODE: The district unit of CPI will observe a 36-hour fast soon in protest against the construction of a sewage storage tank at Velliampalayam in Perundurai taluk, said District Secretary N. Periyasamy on Tuesday.

A resolution was taken at a meeting of the district CPI committee on Monday. He said a land was allotted in Velliampalayam for construction of the sewage tank, in which sewage from Tirupur Municipal area would be stored. It will affect the people in the area. So he urged the Government to stop the construction.
