KOTTAYAM: The tripartite talks held here on Tuesday to resolve the crisis following the stalling of white lime shell dredging operations by the public sector Travancore Cements Ltd. (TCL) failed to produce any results. The talks with the TCL authorities and agitating inland fishermen were called by District Collector Rani George. The suggestion that dredging could be confined to any one particular area for a period of one month and the ecological impact could be investigated by an exert committee before commencing further dredging was rejected by the anti-dredging activists. The TCL had agreed that they were ready to stop dredging if there was any negative ecological impact.
