Chinese textile machinery makers plan service centre

Staff Reporter

No plan now to invest in India

COIMBATORE: The China Hengtian Group Company plans to set up a service centre in Coimbatore soon for the benefit of mills that import its spinning machinery.

A delegation of China Textile Machinery Manufacturers and Suppliers, consisting of 24 members, were here on Sunday and Monday. The delegates are from China Texmatech Co. Ltd (the overseas marketing platform of the Hengtian group) and all the leading textile machinery manufacturers (CTMTC and JINGWEI, CTMTC and ZFJ, CTMTC and CHONGLEE) of China.

The Vice-Chairman of China Hengtian Group Company, Liu Haitao, told presspersons here on Monday that the group produced about six million spindles annually and nearly 30 per cent of it could be exported.

In spinning technology, the Chinese firms were reaching advanced global standards and every year China exports about one million spindles worth nearly $100 million.

Having visited Mumbai and Delhi before coming to Coimbatore, he said that a lot of capacity expansion and value addition of products was on in the Indian textile sector.

The group planned to set up a service centre here and also have a stockist for the spare parts.
