ONGOLE: CPI (Maoist) activists shot dead Thati Eedaiah (30), a para teacher working in ITDA school at Isuka Tripurantakam in Pullalacheruvu mandal in Prakasam district, in the early hours of Tuesday, branding him a police informer. Chandravanka dalam left a note in which it held Eedaiah responsible for the encounter at Chintala village in which three naxalites were killed. The letter signed by Chandana, secretary of Chandravanka dalam, stated that Eedaiah joined as home guard at Ongole (number 205) in 2000 and shifted his operations to Pullalacheruvu mandal to act as a police informer. The police, however, refuted the charge. They contended that the name of the home guard 205 was A. Prasad. The Superintendent of Police, Mahesh Chandra Laddha, said that Eedaiah never worked as a home guard. He blamed the Maoists for killing innocent persons to create terror and demoralise the police.
