2 Indian Express journalists bag Prem Bhatia Awards

NEW DELHI:
Two journalists of Indian Express have bagged the Prem Bhatia Awards for excellence in journalism for 2004-05. The newspaper's Principal Correspondent in Patna, Varghese K George, has bagged the award for political reporting, while Senior Assistant Editor Jay Mazoomdar has been awarded for excellence in reporting on environmental issues.
Mr. George has won the prestigious award for his investigative series that exposed how State Government officials misused funds allotted for flood relief in Bihar.
Similarly, Mr. Mazoomdar's reports on the vanishing tiger population in the country got him the award.
