Packaging machine for SHGs

MADURAI: Self-help group members in the district have embarked on the process of packaging food products manufactured to meet the domestic requirements, thanks to the Tamil Nadu Women Development Corporation and the district administration.

Packaging apart, they can now sell the products under a common brandname: Madumathy.

The authorities have helped to provide a packaging machine worth Rs.1.25 lakh to the groups and it has been installed at the SGSY (Swarnajayanthy Gram Swarozgar Yojana) marketing complex near the Collectorate here.

Packaging would no longer be an eluding problem to the members, as they could now pack the food products and market them under the logo of Madumathy.
