HUBLI: With their boycott of court not making any impact, lawyers of Dharwad will meet on Wednesday to decide on the next course of action. Differences have emerged between the lawyers of Hubli and Dharwad over the location of the proposed Circuit Bench of the High Court, which has threatened to weaken the agitation. While Dharwad lawyers contend that Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court N.K. Sodhi has not ruled out the Water and Land Management Institute (WALMI) building in Dharwad for housing the Circuit Bench, Hubli lawyers have demanded that the Bench be set up at Navanagar, between the twin cities. Dharwad Bar Association president B.D. Hiremath has said that there has been no outright rejection of WALMI building. The Chief Justice has suggested that the building can be used for administrative purposes and separate buildings can be built on the land available. Hubli Bar Association president C.R. Patil has a different opinion. Since the WALMI building has been rejected, the State Government should lay the foundation stone for the proposed building at the land near the KSRP building at Rayapur near Navanagar. The Hubli Bar Association has accepted a resolution in this regard.
