Focus on organic farming

CHENNAI: "Organic farming" is an ecological production management system that promotes and enhances biodiversity, biological cycles and soil biological activity.

Organic food is now being sensitised by everyone as a tool of healthy livelihood.

Commercial entrepreneurs, farmers, home gardeners can grow majority of the horticultural crops organically and the markets for organic produce is now gaining momentum everywhere.

Viewing the importance of organic growing, the Urban Horticulture Development Centre, a wing of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, is imparting a training on "Organic farming of Horticultural crops" on July 25 (Monday). The registration fee is Rs. 300.
