Why not? Asked renowned pop singer Usha Uthup as she champions the cause of the visually challenged, when she interacted with the media in Kochi on Thursday. She says that singing talent can be found from all unlikely places. So why not give a chance to the musically talented persons who are visually challenged? In Kochi there is a flourishing band of visually challenged singers who entertain the masses at road corners and on sidewalks. The Society for Rehabilitation of the Visually Challenged, of which Usha Uthup is the patron, is organising a programme at Mattancherry on Saturday. Usha, who was in town in connection with the programme, wanted the media to spread word that there is no need to segregate people who are born with visual defects.
