HYDERABAD: Next time you visit the Qutb Shahi tombs in Golconda no need to worry about those historical details. The information will just flow into your ears as you walk around. Visitors to the final abode of the erstwhile rulers will soon get handy audio kits. All they have to do is put on those earplugs and move. Sensors fitted near each tomb will get activated and pass on the relevant information about the king buried there, his achievements and the architectural details of the tomb. The Department of Archaeology & Museums has drawn up plans to introduce this unique facility in the Qutb Shahi tombs. The device, which will be a substitute for a guide, will furnish information in English, Hindi and Telugu languages. A similar facility has also been proposed in the State Museum in Public Gardens. Software is being developed for the audio kit. This facility is already available in the National Museum, Delhi, and the Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Museum, Mumbai. The tombs, which are already a tourist hub, are proposed to be further developed, to attract more travellers.
