A Malayali at the top again

The new General Manager of Southern Railway Thomas Varghese is the only second Malayali to occupy the post, exercising jurisdiction over the Thiruvananthapuram and Palakkad Railway Divisions.

An Indian Railway Traffic Service officer of the 1971 batch, Mr. Varghese, on his maiden visit to the Capital after taking over the new assignment, called on Governor R. L. Bhatia and Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.
