Best of Guinness records on AXN

For years now they have provided you with the world's best action. But this July the AXN Channel will bring the best of it all in a "golden" package that celebrates 50 years of the Guinness World Records.

Premiering this coming Wednesday, a two-part series "50 years, 50 records'', will unveil some of the most "death-defying, awe-inspiring and unforgettable'' daring performances by chronicling the years gone by and the records that have been broken as well as held.

Explaining metamorphically the changes and evolution and even the inertia of society and culture, the series will showcase the accomplishments of people like Shridhar Pillai who till recently held the record for the world's longest fingernails to a man who ate light bulbs just to win a place in the Guinness books of world records. It will take a look at all the people who decided to go beyond the normal. Filmed in front of an audience of record holders, the Guinness World Records will come alive once again as some of the best stunts and acts get screened. From high-flying aerial stuntman Mike Howard's casual walk between two hot air balloons at 21,000 feet to 15-year-old martial arts expert David Chu-Tan's take at breaking 26 concrete blocks in less than a minute with his head, there are many outlandish performances on offer.

"The number of Indians who have made their way into the book gives evidence of the sheer determination and grit of Indian people. The Guinness World Records have always enjoyed success in India and the two part series will showcase told as well as new records ,'' points out AXN's Director of Sales and Marketing, Rohit Bhandari. --Lakshmi B.Ghosh
