Sonia takes up Cauvery issue

CHENNAI:
The United Progressive Alliance Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi, has brought the Cauvery water issue to the attention of the Centre.
In a letter to the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president, M. Karunanidhi, a Tamil transcript of which was released to the press here, she said she had received a copy of the special resolution adopted by the Democratic Progressive Alliance on the issue. She had brought this to the attention of the Government. The DPA wanted Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to intervene and ask Karnataka to release Cauvery water due to Tamil Nadu.
