TRS demand for relocation of project flayed

  • YSR blasted for yielding to TRS demand
  • Government faulted for ordering probe
  • `Order on water release being flouted'
  • Politicisation of project decried

VIJAYAWADA: The TDP MLA from Nandigama, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, on Thursday, asked the Government to withdraw its proposal to relocate the Pulichintala project and continue construction at the site that was chosen by Arthur Cotton and Mokshagundam Visweswaraiah.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Rao criticised the demand made by the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president, K. Chandrasekhara Rao, for shifting the project site during the latter's meeting with the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, in New Delhi on Wednesday.

He lambasted the Chief Minister for accepting the demand "without any second thought."
