MYSORE: Members of the Bharthiya Mazdoor Sangh will observe July 29 as "Black Day" to mark the completion of a year of missing of Rs. 50 lakhs in the denomination of Rs. 500 from the RBI Note Mudranalay here. Addressing presspersons here on Thursday, the President of the RBI Employees' Union, A. Ramdas, said "Black Day" will be observed to protest the inaction on the part of the RBI authorities in tracing the culprits involved in the "theft" of Rs. 50 lakhs. The money went missing when it was being transported from the Note Mudranalay to the Reserve Bank of India's office in Thiruvananthpuram. He said while the authorities have failed to nab the culprits, the employees are being harassed and some have been suspended. On July 29, he said, the employees will stage a protest in front of the mudranalay and take out a procession to the Deputy Commissioner's office. A candlelight demonstration will be held at K.R. Circle in the evening. Mr. Ramdas said the procession and demonstration are being organised to draw the attention of the Union Finance Minister, R. Chidambaram, to the plight of employees and the laxity of officials of the printing unit here.
