MADIKERI: The former MLA from Madikeri D.S. Madappa on Thursday denied reports that he is joining the Samajwadi Party in Kodagu during the visit of the former Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party leader, S. Bangarappa, to Madikeri on Friday. Mr. Madappa, who was a BJP MLA, had joined the Janata Dal (Secular) sometime ago. Speaking to presspersons here, he said the Janata Dal (Secular), under the former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, had a bright future in the State. The party is set to grow in Kodagu, he claimed. He admitted that he had received feelers from the Samajwadi Party. Mr. Madappa said that C.S. Arun Machaiah, MLC, will join the Janata Dal (Secular) soon. Talks with the Janata Dal (Secular) leadership and Mr. Machaiah are under way in Bangalore. The president of the Madikeri town unit of the Janata Dal (S), Surendra Shetty, was present.
