Dividend cheque presented

NEW DELHI: Utility Powertech Ltd., a joint venture of the National Thermal Power Corporation and Reliance Energy, has declared a 150 per cent dividend for 2004-05. The dividend cheque for Rs. 1.5 crores was presented to the NTPC Chairman and Managing Director, C.P. Jain, by Utility Powertech director T. Sankaralingam here on Thursday.

Utility Powertech has achieved a turnover of Rs. 112.46 crores in 2004-05 compared to Rs. 86.66 crores in 2003-04 -- an increase of 29.78 per cent.

Workshop for women Panchayat members

NEW DELHI: A three-day workshop on empowering women members of Panchayats and sarpanches culminated at the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation here on Thursday.

Organised by the Foundation's Task Force on Panchayati Raj, the interactive workshop was attended by 25 elected women members.

Several new concepts on social capital, social mobilisation and micro planning through participatory methods were highly appreciated by the participants.

`Don't ignore pain'

NEW DELHI: The president of the Delhi Medical Association, K.K. Aggarwal, said on Thursday that pain anywhere in the body after walking should not be ignored.

"While pain in the chest while walking may indicate blockages in the heart, a similar pain in the calf muscles of the leg while walking may indicate blockages in the leg arteries," added Dr. Aggarwal while addressing a group of doctors.

Water supply to

be affected

NEW DELHI: Due to frequent chokes at the Wazirabad Water Works on account of flooding of the Yamuna, water supply will remain affected in Greater Kailash-I and II, Saket, Malviya Nagar, Defence Colony, Andrews Ganj, South Extension-I and II, Chirag Delhi, Navjeevan Vihar, Geetanjali, Sheikh Sarai, Alaknanda and parts of Chittaranjan Park from Friday to Saturday.

Water tankers will be available at telephone numbers 26414746 (Greater Kailash), 29814106 (Jal Sadan) and 26100644, 26161932 (R.K. Puram).
