HYDERABAD: G. Ramaiah Naidu of Andhra Pradesh emerged winner, by default, as the originally first-placed Amninder Singh of Haryana was disqualified for being overaged by two years in the boys under-14 category one lap point-to-point race in the sixth Hercules National mountain bike championship at Osmania University velodrome here on Thursday. With the technical committee debarring Amninder late in the afternoon, Ramaiah, who was second with a timing of 14 min, 59.77 seconds, was elevated to the first place. J. Nishant (AP, 15.08s) and Vivek Walia (Punjab, 15. 57.78s) finished second and third respectively. The technical committee, however, made it clear that Amninder could compete in age group events where he is eligible. "It is not that he is barred from the rest of the championship," a technical official said. In the girls under-14 one lap point-to-point race, V.G. Parvathy of Kerala stole the show with a timing of 17 min, 13.79 seconds with State-mate P.O. Sayona finishing second (17.45.80s) and D. Dhanurbha (AP, 18.16.10s) third.
