ETURUNAGARAM (WARANGAL DT): Chaos and confusion prevailed at the 52nd governing body meeting of the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) for sometime soon after it began here on Thursday morning. Public representatives of the TRS and the TDP sought to know what action the district administration had initiated against corrupt officials and what happened to the resolutions passed at the earlier meeting. The members referred to the misappropriation of funds to the tune of Rs 1.6 crores by the officials in according sanctions under various welfare schemes. They found fault with the past Project Officer and demanded action against him along with the lower level officials. The TRS MP D. Ravindra Naik, the MLA K. Laxma Reddy, the ZPTC member N. Kumaraswamy, the TDP MLA V. Narender Reddy, the ZP Chairman A Baswa Reddy and others wanted the Ministers - Ponnala Lakshmaiah and D.S. Redya Naik to explain as to what action was taken against the corrupt officials. The Project Officer K. Veeramallu said that a veterinary officer Kiran Kumar Reddy was placed under suspension while nine MPDOs and 15 village secretaries were found guilty and show cause notices were being served on them. However, the public representatives were not satisfied with the explanation and V. Narender Reddy accused the district administration of being indifferent towards the happenings taking place in the ITDA.
