Woman murdered
A woman labourer, Jamalamma, aged around 25 was found murdered near her hut at Shiva Nagar in Alwal on Thursday. Marks around her neck suggest that she was strangled, the Alwal Sub-Inspector, Ch. Satish Reddy, said. The police suspect the woman was killed last night.
Man axed to death
An unidentified man aged around 22 was axed to death at Simhapuri Colony in Bowrampet village of Dundigal police station area. His body was found on Thursday morning. A bloodstained axe, two plastic glasses and an empty liquor bottle were found at the spot, the Dundigal Inspector, K. Rambhupal Rao, said. Injuries on his private parts suggest that sexual jealousy was the motive behind the killing.
Liquor, cash stolen
Thieves broke into two wine shops at Tukaramgate crossroads in Sainagar on Wednesday night and took away Rs. 9,000 and some liquor bottles.
Handbag lifted
A Secretariat employee's handbag containing a mobile phone, Rs. 1,500 and a gold chain weighing 1.5 tolas was stolen on Wednesday from her office premises.
