Hyderabad
`Homeseva' service launched
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
The Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on Thursday launched `Homeseva,' a multi-service delivery point enabling consumers to avail services at their doorstep.
Dr. Reddy handed over the first hand-terminal to a franchisee of Hyderabad that helps Public Call Office (PCO) operators secure sustained and additional daily income through the service. `Homeseva' services have been set up in collaboration with APonline and other regular service providers in the State.
The Chief Minister said the service delivery point system would also benefit primary health centres, orphans, women and all consumer-oriented service providers. About 50,000 youth would benefit from the new scheme.
Dr. Reddy said he understood the financial condition of the PCO/STD owners and that the Government was determined to enhance their income through the franchise service.
