KOCHI: A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court on Thursday ordered the police to see that no obstruction was caused to the work being undertaken on the western side of Bolgatty as part of the implementation of the Marina project of the Cochin Port Trust. The Bench comprising Justice M. Ramachandran and Justice S. Siri Jagan issued the direction while disposing of a writ petition filed by the Crown Maritime Company which had signed a contract with the port for constructing a reclamation wall and also dredging and filling the area on the western side of Bolgatty. The company had given subcontract of the work to one John Xavier. Besides, the company had signed an agreement with the District Construction Workers Union, affiliated to the INTUC and the Ernakulam District Construction Workers Union, affiliated to the CITU for employing their workers.
