Srinagar blast

This refers to Wednesday's terror attack in Srinagar. Infiltrators now seem to be using non-traditional routes like the thick forests of the Gurez sector. The security forces will have to seal this sector too.

At the same time, there should be no let-up in the pressure being mounted on the Pakistan Government to eliminate the terrorist infrastructure.

Asha Krishnamurthy,
Bhadravathi, Karnataka

The picture of a jawan's body being carried by fellow security men (July 21) was shocking. It is a shame to the entire nation to see the body of one who laid down his life for his country being carried thus.

K.L. Thomas,
Alappuzha, Kerala

The publication of the photograph was in bad taste. It looks as if the soldiers are dragging the body of a militant. The soldiers who sacrifice their lives for the nation deserve better.

Anusha Singh,
New Delhi

Is this the way we respect our martyrs? How can The Hindu , of all newspapers, publish such a photo?

Lt. Col. (retd.) P.D. George,
Thrissur, Kerala

The Hindu has done the right thing by carrying the photograph and calling attention to such insensitive practices. It is now for the Army headquarters to act.

S. Thiraviasundaram,
Coimbatore
