CHITTOOR: Activists of the district unit of Telugu Desam party staged a dharna and disrupted traffic near Gandhi statue on Prakasam road here on Saturday protesting against "several scams" allegedly committed by the Congress Government in the State. The TDP activists burnt the effigy of the Minister, Botcha Sathyanarayana, for his alleged role in the Volkswagen scam. Speaking on the occasion, MLA and TDP district president Amarnatha Reddy, said that the Congress Government in the State was mired in corruption. As much as Rs. 4,600 crores were swindled by the Congress leaders in the issue of irrigation tenders, he alleged. The TDP leader criticised the shifting of Ministers involved in the Volkswagen Scam and sale of endowment lands. "Instead of sacking them, their portfolios were changed," he alleged.
