BANGALORE:
A Division Bench comprising the Chief Justice, Nauvdip Kumar Sodhi, and Justice S. Abdul Nazeer, on Monday ordered issue of notice to the Commissioner of Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) and the Commissioner of Police, Bangalore, on a public interest litigation petition seeking a direction to the authorities not to allow demonstrations, rallies, protests and meetings in Banappa Park.
The petitioner, Citizen's Right Forum, said a park had been developed only on a portion of Banappa Park area, while the rest had remained vacant. This was being used to hold demonstrations and rallies, disturbing residents around the park and causing inconvenience to them. The Bench adjourned further hearing of the petition.
