Novel mosquito killer
Special Correspondent
BANGALORE:
Bangalore's "mosquito man" is at it again, even if it means that the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) does not want to spend to enable him to demonstrate his innovative mosquito killing tools.
Some of them have electrical and chemical components, and others simply trap and destroy the insects.
Mosquito-trapping device
L. Devadass has come up with what he claims is the world's largest mosquito-trapping device.
It is the latest in the 12 models he has designed so far, the smallest being 3 inches by 6 inches.
The machine Mr. Devadass demonstrated last week is large, 14 ft and 6 inches tall, which can trap thousands of mosquitoes. Light-emitting electrical waves attract them, and once trapped, they get killed, he says.
Mobile
These machines can be stationary or taken around on vehicles.
A good way to kill mosquitoes to check the malaria menace, which has emerged as a public health hazard.
