No double-speak on gas pipeline project: Aiyar
|
Says issue was discussed with Manmohan
|
NEW DELHI:
Petroleum Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar on Tuesday said he met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to discuss the proposed multi-billion dollar Iran-Pakistan-India gas pipeline and clarified that there was no ``double-speak'' by the Government on the project.
``I met the Prime Minister after he came back from the U.S. He has said that if all systems go [well], we are moving ahead with the pipeline project,'' Mr Aiyar said on the sidelines of the National Petroleum Management Awards ceremony here.
Mr. Aiyar clarified that Dr. Singh in his interview to Washington Post had only drawn the attention of the U.S. citizens to the risks involved in the project.
