BDA, BMP inspect properties
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE:
The Commissioner of the Bangalore Development Authority, M.N. Vidyashankar, and the Commissioner of the Bangalore Mahanagare Palike, K. Jothiramalingam, on Monday inspected areas in Koramangala for deviations in building bylaws, sanctioned plans and unauthorised change in land use.
The High Court of Karnataka had taken note of alleged deviations in the third week of June and asked both the agencies to inspect properties and submit a report within six weeks.
Mr. Vidyashankar said he and the BMP Commissioner visited every block of the area to find out where there are maximum deviations. "We have already done a complete survey but we wanted to do another round of surveys before the affidavit is filed in the High Court," he added. Mr. Jothiramalingam is expected to file the affidavit shortly.
The BDA Commissioner reviewed the progress of work on the airport flyover. Work on the flyover project, which is being implemented by the Uttar Pradesh State Bridges Corporation, began last week. "We should finish it by 2006," he said.
