Bomb hoax at software firm

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Work in a private software firm on C.V. Raman Road in Bayappanahalli police station limits was affected on Monday following an anonymous call in the early hours that a bomb had been planted there.

The police said that at around 1 a.m., the police control room received a call that a bomb had been planted in the company. Members of the bomb detection squad, along with tracker dogs, conducted sabotage checks at the firm. No explosives were found, the police said.

Sometime ago, after the Delhi police had exposed plans to attack information technology (IT) companies in Bangalore, hoax calls were received that bombs were placed in the offices of the IT majors, Wipro and Infosys.
