VISAKHAPATNAM: A year ago, Vithal Raja (71) could not walk a few paces without help, but today she goes for shopping on her own. Ask her about the transformation and her reply would be: "Thanks to the VLCC's slimming schedule.'' A year has gone by and the Delhi-based Vandana Luthra's VLCC Health Care Centre in Visakhapatnam looks "fatter'' by a few inches, thanks to satisfied customers like Ms. Vithal Raja. According to the company's spokeswoman, the clientele has increased at least two-fold. Briefing the media on the centre's first anniversary, Seema the centre manager, said that VLCC today has a big list of satisfied customers.
No crash diet
Ms. Raja weighed 83 kg. before joining and today she has reduced to 65 kg. "What is satisfactory is the method used. I was not put on any crash diet or made to do workouts. The use of gadgets and certain techniques did the trick,'' she said. ``I have become `Miss India' of sorts from `Mother India'! I have lost 17 kg. over a few sessions. My whole personality has changed,'' said another client, Nookaratnam. Dr. Seema said that a customised weight management programme had been designed for each client depending on the person's body composition and health. The company, which made a modest beginning in a flat in New Delhi a decade ago, has established 88 centres across 46 cities. It is also the first beauty corporate in India to be awarded ISO 9001, SA 8000 and ISO 14001.
