HYDERABAD: Counselling for admission to first year engineering and B. Pharmacy (MPC stream) courses will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday simultaneously at six centres in Andhra Pradesh. Minister for Higher Education P. Venkateswara Rao will formally inaugurate the programme at the Hyderabad centre located in the Sankethika Vidya Bhavan at Masab Tank. Qualified candidates can select their own venue to attend the counselling, for which notifications were issued on July 20. The venues are Guntur (Government Polytechnic for Women, Gujjanagundla), Visakhapatnam (Government Polytechnic, Kancharapalem), Warangal (Govt. Polytechnic, MGM Circle), Tirupati (S.V. Govt. Polytechnic, KT Road), Kadapa (Govt. Polytechnic for Women, R.Puram) and Hyderabad. Candidates have to produce all original certificates-- EAMCET-2005 rank card and hall ticket apart from SSC and Intermediate memoranda of marks, study certificate from Class 6 to Intermediate, caste certificate issued by the MRO or the RDO (whichever is applicable) and the income certificate. In respect of non-local candidates, a document certifying 10 years of residence in the State has to be obtained. The required fee has to be paid in full. The addition of Cuddapah as the sixth centre this year is expected to help students of the Rayalaseema region in cutting down travel expenses and time. Further, the Department of Technical Education will put up large display boards to give details of the seat matrix at the centres for the benefit of students. More allotment counters to expedite the process are also being opened.
