Farewell to outgoing IG
Mr. Krishna Raju, who was transferred, handed over charge to his successor, Rajwant Singh, at Guntur on Monday evening. He was given a touching farewell at a function held here late last night. The Superintendent of Police, Prakasam district, Mahesh Chandra Laddha, who presided, said that Maoists had killed 14 persons in the district during last year. Mr. Krishna Raju had given his officials and staff a free hand in dealing with naxal violence and desisted from exerting any pressure on them. - Special Correspondent
