ADILABAD: Heavy rainfall on Tuesday claimed five lives, including three children, in Nirmal and Utnoor sub-divisions of Adilabad district. Many villages in the area were inundated with rivers and streams being in spate and overflow from local tanks. According to reports reaching here, siblings P. Vinay, 11, and P. Vinoda, 3, and Origanti Naresh, 6, died when the wall of their home at Sone village in Nirmal mandal collapsed. Nettu Gangaram, 25, of Dounelli village in Kuntala mandal was washed away in a stream. Two tanks at Dounelli and Venkanur villages in Kuntal and one at Pardi (B) village in Kubeer mandal breached causing flooding of water in these villages.
