Water release for Adi festival

CHENNAI: Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Tuesday ordered release of 1000 million cubic (one TMC) feet from Mettur Reservoir for eight days from July 27 (Wednesday) in view of the "Adi Perukku" festival on August 3. Residents of towns along the river Cauvery celebrate the festival on the 18th day of Tamil month of Adi by offering puja to the river.
