Police arrest two, recover fake permits

BELLARY: The Bellary police have been successful in unearthing another case of illegal transportation of ion ore. This is the fourth case detected by the police since January.

On a tip off by Hanumanth of the Mines and Geology Department, the police raided a house in Parvati Nagar in the city and seized fake permits. They arrested two persons — Sandeep and Ravi — in this connection.

The team raided the house of Raju at Toranagal in Sandur taluk, about 30 km from here, where printing materials and fake permits, were seized.

Raju is absconding.

The police said the two arrested were in possession of fake trip sheets issued by the department, permit issued by the Forest Department and bulk permits.
