Strong winds to lash coastal areas

Staff Reporter

VISAKHAPATNAM: Strong winds from south-westerly direction with speed reaching 40 to 45 kmph are likely along and off coastal Andhra during the next 12 hours.

A bulletin issued by the Cyclone Warning Centre here on Tuesday evening said that the well-marked low pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal moved inland and lay in the morning over Orissa and adjoining Chattisgarh. Under the influence of the low pressure, rain is likely to continue at a few places over coastal Andhra during the next 24 hours.
