Introduce train service

There is no train service from Madurai to Virudhunagar between 7.40 hrs and 14.30 hrs. The Southern Railway has to introduce passenger or fast passenger train service, benefiting those who plan to go to Virudhunagar, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Tuticorin etc.

Thousands of software engineers from the southern part of Tamil Nadu are employed in Information Technology companies in Bangalore.

Most of them visit their homes on weekends and holidays.

Since only one train is now running between Tuticorin and Mysore via Bangalore, which is always full, it will be welcome if a superfast daily service — Madurai-Bangalore-Madurai — is introduced.

Decision hailed

The decision taken by the superintendent of police, Madurai, to install complaint boxes in all colleges/schools for taking stringent action against culprits involving in eve-teasing is a welcome step.

Nowadays, girls need to safeguard themselves from this menace.

I request girls of colleges/schools to avail themselves of the opportunity to bring culprits to the book, without hesitation.

Remove encroachers

Ellis Nagar bridge works are under progress. Half of the old bridge has been dismantled for setting up pillars. The bridge is narrow now and two-wheeler riders and pedestrians are using it.

Hawkers are encroaching the bridge. Fruit sellers, small vendors, etc. are hindering the path of passers-by. Police should ensure free-flow of traffic.
