Anjali Gupta allowed to inspect documents
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE:
The general court martial jury on Monday directed the Indian Air Force (IAF) administration to allow Flying Officer Anjali Gupta to inspect all documents and files related to the charges against her. The jury passed the order on an application filed by Ms. Gupta's advocate, Mohan Kumar. Ms. Gupta is facing charges of insubordination and irregularity.
On Monday, Mr. Kumar filed an application seeking permission to inspect 11 files and obtain certified documents pertaining to her service and related matters. The Prosecutor, Wg. Cdr. R.K. Dubey, raised objections and said the documents sought were irrelevant and confidential. On Tuesday, Mr. Kumar filed a rejoinder to the Prosecutor's objection and said the question of relevancy of the documents can be decided only after he is allowed to inspect them.
The proceedings were adjourned till Wednesday.
