Sangeetha Kalanidhi T.L. Venkatarama Aiyar, Judge of the Supreme Court, has made an earnest appeal to sangeetha vidwans and to lovers of music to contribute their mite for the erection of a suitable memorial to the Trinity of Carnatic music in Tiruvarur. He was addressing a meeting of vidwans and music lovers at the Thyagaraja Mandir in Mylapore, Madras, on July 27, under the auspices of the Sri Thyagaraja Vidwath Samajam. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. S. Rajaraman, Treasurer of the Tiruvarur Music Trinity Commemoration Sabha, explained how the Sabha had been formed in response to the wishes of lovers of music with a view to raising a suitable memorial to the Trinity of Carnatic music at Tiruvarur. It was their ambition that the spots at which the three saint-composers were born should be made shrines of pilgrimage for every music lover.
