Save water

The `war on water' is one of the key issues in Palakkad district.

There is depletion of groundwater in some parts of the district owing to over-exploitation for industrial purpose. But the monsoon came as a great solace — the district received good rain. Rivers in the district like Bhavani, Siruvani, Mangalam and Kunthipuzha are flowing full. Even the Bharathapuzha is flowing full. But the picture of plenty will stop with the rain, if there are no steps to conserve water.
