The National Congress (Indira) leader K. Karunakaran
Speculation is rife over the contender for the Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha seat that has fallen vacant following the death of P.K. Vasudevan Nair. Will the National Congress(Indira), which is a force to be reckoned with in the district, field senior leader K. Karunakaran is the question that is going the rounds. It assumes significance as Mr. Karunakaran was elected with a comfortable margin earlier. But in the wake of the political realignment, it remains to be seen whether the party will support the LDF or take the plunge.
