London: After housing the International Cricket Council (ICC) for nearly a century, Lord's tie with the ICC will be severed on Friday when the game's global governing body relocates to its new home in Dubai. ``The International Cricket Council will cease its operations at Lord's Cricket Ground on Friday (July 29) and re-open at its new premises in Dubai on August 1,'' an ICC release said here on Thursday. ICC President Ehsan Mani, meanwhile, expressed the deep and abiding appreciation to Marylebone Cricket Club which has been home to the ICC for 96 years. ``I thank the MCC for the pivotal role it has played in the ICC's development, and the wonderful support it has given to us since the Imperial Cricket Conference, as it was then known, was formed in 1909,'' Mr. Mani said. ``As the ICC prepares to enter the next exciting phase of its development it does so physically far removed from the shores of England, but forever spiritually at home at Lord's,'' he said. The ICC, however, will return to Lord's for its Annual Conference in June/July next year. UNI
