Compensation given

CHITRADURGA: The district administration has disbursed Rs. 50,000 as compensation to the family of Hanumakka of Mekenahatti village in Holalkere taluk, who died in the house collapse owing to heavy rainfall on Wednesday. Handing over a cheque for the amount to the family members of the deceased, the Deputy Commissioner, K. Amaranarayana, promised to take steps to provide amenities in the village.

He asked the villagers to maintain cleanliness in the village. C.M. Noor Mansoor, Assistant Commissioner; Dasappa, tahsildar, and officers of the Revenue Department were present.
