Two `pseudo-naxals' held

CUDDAPAH: Two pseudo-naxalites were arrested on Thursday by Badvel police on a complaint that they were threatening to kill a TDP leader of Atlur mandal.

K. Rishikesh and A. Pedda Subbarayudu of Atlur, who allegedly posed as naxalites and visited the citrus orchards belonging to the former Atlur mandal president B. Ramakrishna Reddy thrice during the last fortnight threatening to kill him and his son Sunil Kumar Reddy, a contractor, were arrested by the Badvel circle inspector Sriramulu.

Mr. Sunil Kumar Reddy had complained to Cuddapah SP Y. Nagi Reddy and OSD (Operations) A. Samuel Carey Wesley about the threats meted out to them by five persons claiming to be naxals. Of them two had fire arms.

Maoist surrenders

Kakinada Correspondent writes: The commander of the Palakajeedi Local Guerrilla squad of Maoists' East Divisional Committee Muvva Lakshmanarao alias Latcha alias Naresh (21) surrendered before the East Godavari SP Vemuganti Naveen Chand here on Thursday.

He belongs to Yendakota, an interior forest area of Koyyuru mandal in the district.
