Three landmines unearthed
According to Mulug Circle Inspector V. Tirupathi, unidentified naxals planted three landmines with huge explosive material targeting policemen. A bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot to defuse the mines. - Staff Reporter

Naxalites set two lorries afire

Fake currency racket busted
According to Deputy SP Ammi Reddy, the accused persons secured fake currency in the ratio of 1:2.5 (original and fake) from a "frequent visitor'' and exchanged locally.
The arrested were identified as P. Raghavendra, P.K. Sarveswar Babu, both from Kurnool, K. Nagaraju (30) of Kodumur and G. Eswar Reddy of Tartoor near Nandikotkur. - Staff Reporter

Ministers' visit
The PCC coordinator for Municipal elections, Rayapati Srinivas and PCC observer S.Gopal will visit the district on Friday. They will hold a meeting of party workers at the Bapuji Kalamandir. The party strategy for the ensuing municipal elections, among other things are expected to be discussed. Also, Vangapandu Appala Swamy, member of Official Language Committee will visit the district on 27.
