VILLUPURAM THE: Collector Ka. Balachandran has said stated that free cooking gas connections (liquefied petroleum gas) would be given to those members of the Self-Help Groups or their daughters who are living below the poverty line. In a statement released here, Mr. Balachandran said noted that the scheme was being implemented in the district with the Government's financial assistance. Besides the SHG members or their daughters, those who were eligible under the marriage assistance schemes could apply for the free gas connections.
