New Karaikal Collector appointed

Kumarasamy posted Secretary to the Lt Governor

PONDICHERRY: Law and Labour Secretary, V. Candavelou, has been transferred and appointed Collector of newly created district of Karaikal, an official release said here on Thursday.

It said that the Lt Governor issued orders effecting reallocation of work and subjects among the IAS officers with immediate effect.

A.K. Chaturvedi, Secretary to the Government has been assigned charge of the Department of Local Administration in addition to existing duties, relieving S. Kumarasamy of the responsibility.

S. Kumarasamy, Secretary, Industries and Commerce and Chief Electoral Officer of Pondicherry has been appointed Secretary to the Lt Governor. He will also hold additional charge of the Departments of Health, Revenue, Registration, Survey and Land Records Excise, Temple Administration and Wakfs, relieving A.K. Chaturvedi.

The Secretary to the Town and Country Planning department, A.K. Singh, will hold charge of departments of Law and Labour in addition to charges already held by him relieving Dr. V. Candavelou, transferred and appointed as Collector of Karaikal, vice the Collector in charge Dr. S. Sundaravadivelou.

The Lt Governor also issued orders transferring and posting a batch of Pondicherry Civil Service (non functional grade, Junior Administrative Grade and Selection and Entry grades) in their new assignments:

The Labour Commissioner, Rattan Singh, has been transferred and posted as Managing Director of Pondicherry Industries Promotion Development and Investment Corporation Limited on deputation vice A.K. Singh, relieved of the charge.

Registrar of Cooperative Societies G Ranganahan has been transferred as Labour Commissioner vice Rattan Singh transferred.

The Collector in charge of Karaikal, Dr. S. Sundaravadivelou, has been transferred and posted as Registrar of Cooperative Societies vice G. Ranganathan.

The Deputy Director of Local Administration department, M.K. Surendran, has been transferred and posted as Director of Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare.

Deputy Secretary (Health) R. Smitha has been transferred as Project Officer in Pondicherry Urban Development Agency (PUDA) on deputation vice S. Shanmgasundaram, repatriated.

The Deputy Director (Administration) in the Department of Agriculture C. Selvanathan has been transferred to the post of Under Secretary (Health) vice R. Smitha transferred.

The Project Officer of the PUDA, S. Shanmugasundaram, has on repatriation, been posted as Deputy Director (Administration) in the Department of Agriculture.

The Member Secretary of the Bharathiar Palkalaikoodam, P. Kannan has on repatriation been posted as Officer on Special Duty in Electricity Department vice R. Ponnusamy transferred to the Bharathiar Palkalaikoodam as its Member Secretary on deputation.

The Deputy Director of Industries and Commerce department, N.K. Kalaimani, has been transferred and posted as the Deputy Director of Local Administration Department vice M.K. Surendran transferred.

Pondicherry Civil Services officer (Grade II) I.Benedict George on return from leave has been posted as Deputy Director (Industries and Commerce) vice N.K. Kalaimani transferred.
